Forgot what we said about Friday and Saturday night being the hopping nights of the week – this basic rule was thrown out the window yesterday when Granada won the finals of the Nicaraguan national baseball championship vs. Esteli. Winning the baseball tournament is, if I take the word of our 9 yr. old neighbors, a big deal! After all, school was closed today as a celebration of the big win. Central parque for two nights in a row has been jam packed with people congregating, dancing, throwing each other (literally) into the air, live music on a stage in front of the yellow church. Also, the soccer games in the street have now converted to baseball.. everyone is playing baseball!
Does Ben remember going to his FIRST baseball game?
Sure do… Poor Boyd attempts to watch the game, while I pester him for 2 hours with questions about the game which, frankly, after 20 years, I still can’t get excited about…
